MICHAEL SMALL

Michael trained at Ridley Drama Studios and the London School of Contemporary Dance. From 1979 to 1989 he performed with the London Contemporary Dance Theatre (LCDT), becoming a principal member. During this time he danced leading roles in the company's repertoire including Robert North's Troy Game, Robert Cohen's Forests, Tom Jobe's Run Like Thunder and Paul Taylor's Cloven Kingdom Esplanade and Arden Court. He was also featured in Darshan Singh Bhuller's dance film Exit No Exit for Channel 4.
In 1987, Michael achieved a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from the University of Kent. In 1989 he sang and danced in Gillian Lynne's production of The Look of Love for BBC television. In 1990 he made his West End debut in King at the Piccadilly Theatre in which he was a feature dancer and sang ensemble. That same year he danced in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song and Dance at the Shaftesbury Theatre and on it's British tour.
Michael's teaching career has included leading technique classes at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Arts Educational School Tring and London Studio Centre. Since 2007 he has been the contemporary technique tutor at Millennium Performing Arts.
