Sandrine Monin

Sandrine Monin is a freelance dance artist and choreographer based in Leeds, whose mission is to connect and empower people through dance and storytelling.

After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon in France, she pursued her studies in Germany as part of the European programme D.A.N.C.E led by Forsythe, McGregor, Preljocaj and Flamand and graduated from Palucca Hochschule Dresden with a Masters Degree.

As a professional dancer, she has worked for over 13 years with varied choreographers and performed for renowned companies (Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Phoenix Dance Theatre) around the UK, Europe and internationally.

Parallel to her performing career, she has developed her own choreographic work, supported by Arts Council England and has been commissioned to create for dance companies, theatre, youth groups and music video. Her practice, at a crossroads of classical, physical theatre and contemporary genres, explores the complexity of human emotions.

Continuously sharpening her leadership skills (MA Choreography - Central School of Ballet, Business and Finance course - Open University), she is passionate about teaching and nurturing the next generation of dancers as well as advocating the benefits of dance in our society. Using dance as channel for deeper connection.
