ASSISTANT CO-ORDINATOR - SWINDON URBAN PROGRAMME
Paris graduated from Swindon Dance - Youth Dance Academy (YDA) in 2014. Whilst she attended YDA she worked with various high profile streetdancers and companies such as Robert Hylton, Banxy, Plague dance crew (All members), Natasha Khamjani, Circomedia, The Realness, Tim Noble, Russel Maliphant’s dance company and many more. She also participated in several performances with Swindon Dance over the years including The Lowry - Centre for Advance Training, The Bristol Harbourside festival, London’s 02 Arena and at London Contemporary Dance School, The Place.
Paris has trained in most street styles ranging from popping, locking, breaking, house, hiphop and waacking, but she eventually discovered her passion for Popping at the age of 15 in 201. In 2012 Paris became a member of Fiya House Crew directed by Dickson Mbi and Brooke Milliner.
She has entered various events in the past couple of years which include UK BBOY championships - popping solo’s where she became top 16 out of 80 participants. Paris and her crew members were guest battlers at various events in 2013, such as Juste Debout Switzerland where she got to the finals, she also got the finals of another battle in Switzerland and she was guest battler in China for an Olympic event called Keep on Dancing, coming 2nd place against Korea.
Paris is now a freelance dancer currently working as an assistant coordinator on the YDA and attending Hertfordshire University studying psychology, hoping to one day combine dance with psychology.
After leaving YDA Paris has participated in a projects with Cirque Bijou where she has performed at Festival of Speed; a private function for Lord Marche and at The Brewery in London. In the summer of 2014 Paris had travelled to Heerlen and Amsterdam in Europe, where she was a guest battler for an exhibition battle between UK and France; The Notorious IBE Callout battle and then a soloist competitor at Summer Dance Forever where she was chosen top 12 out of 112 participants. In September 2014 Paris travelled to Seoul with Dickson Mbi, where she trained with famous and highly skilled dancers such as Blue Whale Brothers, Quick Crew and Winners Crew. She then flew as a guest battler to Guilin where she competed in a battle called I Dance With The World which featured some of the world’s top poppers and yet still managed to win the whole popping category.
