NATIONAL YOUTH DANCE COMPANY
Well done to the five students who successfully auditioned for a place in the National Youth Dance Company. From the Exeter Contemporary Programme: Sharol Mackenzie, Kane Mills and Aine Reynolds. From Swindon Contemporary Programme: Kit King & Ed Arnold .
On 15th December Swindon Dance hosted an experience workshop for young dancers wishing to become part of the National Youth Dance Company (NYDC). Hannah Dye, Creative Learning Co-ordinator for the company wrote:
"Many thanks again for hosting the NYDC Experience workshop on Saturday and making us feel so welcome. We really enjoyed our day and it was an absolute pleasure to meet a group of enthusiastic, polite and talented young people.
They made our decision very difficult! But we are inviting 6 dancers to attend the final selection day in Feb at Sadler’s Wells. They are: Aine Reynolds, Kane Mills, Sharol Mackenzie, Edward Arnold, Agnes Njoroge and Kit King.
We are unable to offer individual feedback but we do have a couple of exceptional circumstances where we feel personal feedback is appropriate and I will be emailing them directly. But just so you know; the panel were extremely interested in Daniel but because he turns 20 in January we do feel his age goes against our guidelines and therefore the DfE funding remit. And we are very keen to see Jacob audition for next year’s NYDC as we do feel he is slightly too young this year but recognise his great potential."
