  • First place at "DanzaEuropa" in the contemporary dance section with the group "Evidence" in 2002.

In 2002 he was contacted by Festival di Sanremo (Italy’s biggest song contest) to perform as a dancer alongside singer Alexia in her song “Dimmi Come”. He also performed in her official music video. In the same year he co-directed  alongside Daniela Agostini, his first hip hop and contemporary dance show for the dance school “Grease” based in Venice in Italy. The same happened the following year. By then Antonio had been developing more and more in ballet and contemporary dance and after winning first prize at “DanzaEuropa” was invited by Ajkun Ballet Theatre to perform in their summer tour of Romeo and Juliet. In 2003, Antonio was offered a place in the prestigious school Rudra of Bejart Ballet,Lausanne, Switzerland.  He trained under the vigilant eyes of the late Maurice Bejart and current director Michel Gascard before moving to London where he currently lives. His career in London began, in the commercial dance scene under Rudeye Dance Agency and Pineapple Dance Agency. Between 2005 and the 2007 he performed on Top of the Pops, CD:UK, did adverts for The Box TV channel, Mazda, BBC, Walkers Crisps and Apple and  was part of an Urban Workout DVD.

In 2007, Antonio decided to take further development in his contemporary dance career and was offered a place at London Contemporary Dance School. He did a 1-year certificate. In this year he performed with the likes of Sam Coren and Andrew Hardwidgebefore discovering the world of Contemporary Circus. He auditioned for the National Centre for Circus Arts in 2009 and got in and specialized in Chinese Pole. By then, Antonio’s interest in developing performance with a social and political discourse had commenced and his graduation piece “Hi, my name is…. and I am an…”, based on an interview to a woman who had suffered with an alcohol addiction for over 10 years, was and still is of great success.  Antonio by then had become acquainted with Lloyd Newson, director of DV8 and one of his idols. He interviewed Lloyd in 2011. His graduation piece had a profound impact at NCCA and the interview is currently being studied as part of the module on the degree. After graduation Antonio went on to work on a series of Circus, Theatre and Dance  shows including:

  • The Arrival - National Tour directed by Kristine Landon-Smith and Tamasha Theatre as a Chinese Pole artist
  • Exhibition road show - in an aerial Dance Piece choreographed by Lindsey Butcher
  • Floating Points -  as a dancer and trampolinist choreographed by Ella Robson in collaboration with U.V.A and Nike.
  • Molten Festival - as an aerial dancer with Aerial Dance company Scarabeus

He has worked alongside many practitioners in various workshops and R&D’s such as Rishi Trikka, Graeae Theatre Company, Jean Pol Zaccarini, Scarabeus, Osborne&what and Ben Duke

His main passion still lies in performance as a tool for social discourse and in 2013 he became one of the main researchers for DV8’s latest show “JOHN”. Antonio spent 7 months in gay saunas and sex clubs across London interviewing men about their lives, culminating in finding John, the main character of the show. This was a turning point for Antonio in realizing his passion to develop work that was based on social/cultural issue.   Since 2015, he has been working alongside artist Aislinn Mulligan (co-founder ofCircumference) on a new immersive theatre show based on the impact of the drug culture in our society. They have performed a small extract at Resolutions! at The Place in early 2016 and have been offered residencies by Jackson’s Lane Theatre, London and The Point in Eastleigh.  They have now been invited by incredible art foundation Mas Arte Mas Accion in Bogota, Colombia, to further R&D their show. The show premiered in Spring 2017.

Antonio is currently a dance teacher and Chinese Pole teacher at the National Centre for Circus Arts and works alongside students in their artistic development.

As a child Arthur would always take a different route to school than the other kids. Whether he jumped, rolled or climbed, he saw the journey as an opportunity to have fun. It is no surprise that Arthur joined the National Centre for Circus Arts, where he developed his skills to become the circus artist that he is today.

Arthur has worked with Barely Methodical Troupe
