Katie Purcell

Katie Purcell trained at London Studio Centre graduating with a BA hons degree as part of the Jazz Company. Katie went on to perform with Curious Company touring a variation of Alice in Wonderland and Mr Wippy and the Conettes touring across the UK in a variety of venues and festivals. Katie was also a dancer and performer with Professional tap company, Sole Rebel, performing in a variety of productions in Theatres and Festivals as well as leading classes and events as part of their Educational work.  Katie was made Company Manager and rehearsal director of Sole Rebel in 2014-16.

Katie joined the Swindon Dance teaching team in 2008, leading classes in Street Dance, Tap and Youth Groups on the Community Dance Programme, as well as being a part of the Outreach team leading a variety of classes in School across Swindon and Wiltshire.  In 2012 Katie gained the teaching qualification DDTAL (Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning) with Trinity Laban. 

 
From 2012 Katie worked in the Education and Development Team at Swindon Dance, joining firstly as the Coordinator and then stepping up into the Assistant Manager role from 2016-2020.  During that time Katie coordinated and managed a variety of performances and projects in and out of the building including the UDance Regional heats at the Wyvern Theatre, many Community Performances in the Court theatre and Wyvern Theatre and the Royal Ballet Schools Outreach Programme Primary Steps. 

Katie covered the role of Programme Manager for the Centre for Advanced Training Programme at Swindon Dance from January-July 2020 and is now looking forward to embarking in the role on a full time and permanent basis.
