Helen Ganberg

Helen completed a 3 year (BA Hons) at Trinity Laban followed by a PGCE in Dance and English at Brighton University qualifying as a secondary school teacher.  Between 1993-96 Helen worked as the Head of Dance in a Devon secondary school teaching GCSE and A Level Dance as well as Drama up to GCSE level and Physical Education.

In 1996 Helen became the Senior Dance Education and Access Officer at Swindon Dance managing the work of the education team alongside regular teaching and choreographing.

Helen has taught children, young people and adults as well as devising and leading teacher training for Swindon Dance, DansConnect and Wiltshire County Council. She wrote the educational resource pack for Tavaziva Dance as well as devising the education work for their 2006/07 UK.

Helen has choreographed for youth and community groups as well as schools creative projects and site specific pieces. She is currently the artistic director of Swindon Youth Dance Company and leads Swerve, a professional performance group based at Swindon Dance. Swerve performed at Resolution! 07 at The Place, London and will be premiering their latest production at Swindon Dance in November 2017.

Helen is currently a TOPS Dance trainer for Wiltshire County Council and has recently set up a small scale dance company called Skedaddle Dance - for children in Swindon and Wiltshire.  She is also a qualified Hatha yoga teacher regularly teaching adults and children.
