David Ledger

Originally from England, David Ledger received his training at the Northern school of Contemporary Dance and afterwards at The Rambert School of ballet and Contemporary Dance. Upon leaving the school David began an apprenticeship and soon after full time contract with Netherlands Dans Theater 2, where he remained for four years. During this time he toured internationally performing and creating works with the likes of; Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, Alexander Ekman and Johan Inger, to name a few. In 2014 David left the company to focus on a freelance career. Since then he has become a member of the company Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez, where he participated in the most recent creation of new work, ‘speak low if you speak love’, which he is still touring internationally. As well as performing in some of the companies existing repertoire. He also recently participated in the research and development phase of a new project with DV8 physical theatre. David has also taught at many institutions, including The Rambert School and recently at The Royal Swedish Ballet as part of Lloyd Newson’s workshop there.
